ABOUT US
OUR MISSION
We strive to enhance the well-being of our community by providing shared access to our natural lands with a welcoming and lasting network of trails.
THE FULL STORY
The French's Ledges area hosts a network of trails - for human-powered uses - nestled in the village of Meriden, in the town of Plainfield, NH. With multiple access points, these trails are open to the public year-round for anyone to enjoy. The trails cover a patchwork of land parcels including both public and private land owned by more than 20 local landowners.

The French’s Ledges Trail Committee is part of the town of Plainfield, and operates independently of other organizations, such as Upper Valley Trails Alliance (UVTA) or Vermont Mountain Biking Association (VMBA).
The French's Ledges Trail Committee oversees the following objectives:
Landowner Connections
Preserve a balance of public access to private land by cooperating with landowners and respecting their wishes.
Trail Development
Maintain, groom (in winter), and manage the French's Ledges trail network.
Trail Usage
Coordinate appropriate use of signs and maps to support navigation of the trails and various viewpoints. We will survey, inspect and plan sustainable trails for future development when appropriate.
Community Engagement
Inform and engage the surrounding community about condition updates, including freshly groomed trails in the winter and unsafe conditions after damage by storms.
